Members of the Cleveland Rotary Club on Oct. 5 welcomed employees of Naskila Gaming of Livingston and members of the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe of Texas to discuss their Gaming Center on the Alabama-Coushatta Reservation in Polk County.
Despite legal challenges by the State of Texas, the Tribe feels that they are on firm legal ground in opening a Class 2 Gaming Center, which has only several hundred electronic bingo games and is not a casino.
Another reservation in Texas has operated a similar gaming center for almost 20 years. Over 210 jobs (190 of them full-time) have been created at the Gaming Center, in addition to the trickle down effects of a successful business that stimulates economic growth for the entire area.
